Stefan Roda: TBS Targets Sensitive Sectors with Advanced Access Management and Identity Verification Solutions Amid Regional Expansion in the Middle East
Stefan Roda, Vice President of Sales for the Middle East and Africa at TBS (Touchless Biometric Systems), said the company continues to advance its touchless biometric technologies as part of a strategic shift from being a hardware provider to becoming a developer of fully integrated digital security ecosystems powered by software and intelligent technologies.
Speaking during the ITS 2026 exhibition and conference in Cairo, organized by Integrated Technics and featuring eight global brands specializing in cybersecurity, protection systems, and smart solutions, Roda explained that TBS operates in highly sensitive environments, including military, banking, security centers, and critical infrastructure sectors. He noted that the company’s solutions go beyond securing entry points, extending to managing access rights and controlling entry to sensitive data environments and facilities such as data centers and digital vaults, thereby enhancing protection levels in advanced operational settings.
Regarding regional expansion, Roda highlighted TBS’s success in the Middle East, particularly in Abu Dhabi’s energy sector, where the company implemented advanced identity verification systems for employees at operational sites using smart tablet-based solutions. These systems are designed to ensure operational efficiency even in harsh desert environments.
He also pointed to deployments in Saudi Arabia, where TBS developed access control solutions for entertainment cities, leveraging biometric identification technologies such as facial recognition and fingerprint authentication as a digital alternative to traditional ticketing systems. These solutions are also integrated with global booking platforms, improving user experience while strengthening security.
On the international front, Roda referenced the company’s project at Singapore’s Changi Airport, where self-service kiosks were developed to register biometric data for more than 80,000 employees, underscoring TBS’s ability to deliver large-scale and complex deployments efficiently.
He emphasized that TBS’s strength lies in its fully integrated ecosystem, combining hardware and software capabilities, supported by a dedicated development team that customizes solutions according to the requirements of each project, ensuring maximum flexibility and seamless integration.
The company’s portfolio includes advanced touchless access technologies, fingerprint and iris recognition systems, specialized solutions for harsh environments, and flexible operating systems that function both in cloud-based and on-premises infrastructures, with full support for mobile-based enrollment and operation.
Roda concluded that TBS continues to redefine global biometric standards by combining technological innovation with operational flexibility, delivering more secure and seamless identity management and access control solutions across critical sectors worldwide.
